Project Design & Delivery

We have an impressive track record in project design and delivery. From managing grant programmes, community arts initiatives, developing cycle ways and creating six new woodlands. We are skilled at fundraising, communicating with partners and delivering on time and to budget.

Transforming Your Space Programme

Transforming Your Space Programme

In 2003 Wigan MBC was awarded £650,000 from the Lottery to support local environmental initiatives. Pathways was employed to work with ten communities to assist them in clarifying their ideas and to assess potential projects' viability and value. In three areas, Pathways needed to conduct consultation to generate workable proposals. In all, over 40 projects were agreed upon, along with a package of developmental support.
Client: Economic Regeneration Office, Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council

“Pathways input has been invaluable; in some of Wigan's most environmentally deprived communities they've raised community spirit and enabled them to become greener and cleaner places.”

Claire Greenwood, Senior Funding Officer, Wigan MBC

Community Strategy for Amberswood

Amberswood is a former open cast mining site in Wigan that has been transformed into a community woodland. In order to stimulate local people's use of the site, Pathways delivered a marketing and events programme, in which 400 people took part. Events included storytelling in the woodland for children; a photography project for a group of people with learning disabilities; a picnic with music making for families, a poetry festival and a consultation day for young people.

Seven Acres' Development Strategy"It's a beautiful place, a natural place. People don't think that they are in the City."

This project worked to understand how a neglected country park in the centre of a regeneration area could better meet the needs of its surrounding community. Discussions with local workers and a perception survey found that the park offers a unique 'door step' countryside experience that could greatly contribute to the wellbeing of local residents. The work has formed the basis of a development plan which is guiding substantial investment in the park.
